Which "farmer" are you? The one who spends or the one who invests?

Hi Fabulous Friends!

A short parable.

There was a farmer in a hurry.

She wanted fast growth. Something she could sell. Something that proved she was doing it right.
She found a fertilizer that made crops grow quickly, so she used it season after season, even though the soil was rocky.

The plants grew.
But when storms came, the roots could not hold.
The crops failed every time.

Her neighbor did something different.

She spent nearly a year cultivating the land.
The soil was not ideal. It had been neglected.
She cleared the rocks, invested in the top compost. Let it rest.

The following year, the plants grew strong.
When storms came, the roots held.

I was the first farmer.

For 20 years, I chased quick fixes. Diets. Restriction. Two workouts a day. Body dysmorphia.
I believed that if I could just look a certain way, I would finally feel worthy.
I told myself I would be happy when the scale hit a certain number.

And for a while, it worked.

Back then, I was resilient.
I had more time. Fewer responsibilities. A body that was forgiving.
I could tolerate the collateral damage and recover from it.

But season after season, the cost added up.
Brittle nails. Brittle hair. Dry skin. (my skin is still dry LOL, give me a break I'm 47 haha JK)
Last year, something shifted.

With the help of a therapist and internal work, I stopped forcing growth and started fixing the soil.
I began clearing the outdated beliefs I thought were facts.

I need to do more.
I need more discipline.
The scale tells the truth.
My worth comes after results.

Once those rocks were removed, the body followed without forcing it.
The crop became a byproduct.

When you fix the soil first, progress withstands life’s storms.
And instead of quick wins that disappear, you get returns that compound over time.

Hi Fabulous Friends! Most workout programs train strength in the forward and backward plane of motion... Squats. Lunges. Deadlifts.... are all excellent BUT ... our bodies operate in various directions at a thousand different angles. We step sideways to catch our balance. We twist to grab laundry We balance on one foot while carrying groceries. If we don’t train those directions… we lose it and injury occurs. That’s when we start saying: “Why does my back and neck feel stiff?”“Why do I feel...

Hi Fabulous Friends. A little practical wisdom as we head into the Lunar New Year. 🐎 🐎 What’s the secret to remaining consistent? It’s not willpower, not discipline, nor “grind harder.” It’s being flexible.Flexibility preserves a sense of control. It removes the all-or-nothing pressure and replaces it with options. On high-friction days — low sleep, long work hours, kid chaos, decision fatigue — don’t quit. Pivot. 💥 I’ve been experimenting with what James Clear calls “proactive laziness” in...
